Hylatechnik’s Background

Hylatechnik was founded in Ilsfeld, Germany by Paul Chrubasik in 1966. Paul previously worked as a foreman in the press shop at August Läpple company in Heilbronn. During that period he gained a vast amount of experience in press and tool-making. He invented and built the first blanking stroke dampers, which have become a standard component in presses. The first and current Hylatechnik facility was built in 1971, and in the following year technologies such as hydraulics and digital proportional-stroke monitoring were applied in presses – a novelty in those days. Hylatechnik has continued to expand over the years and proudly presents itself as a modern firm that has an international reputation as a specialist and solution-provider in the metal forming industry.

Hylatechnik FAQ

Hylatechnik is a German hydraulic manufacturer of press products, available in North America through IC-Fluid Power. Their components include their flagship hydraulic shock dampers, die splitter cart, scrap shears, and more. Founded by a previous press shop foreman, Hylatechnik’s product line is built with press efficiency and safety in mind.

IC-Fluid Power is the US supplier and distributor for Hylatechnik. Working with IC-Fluid eliminates many of the common pain points of buying from overseas. IC-Fluid Power handles technical communication, currency and payment, customs paperwork, and consolidated freight. This lets your engineering and purchasing teams focus on application performance and cost instead of international procurement logistics.

Hylatechnik shock dampers protect the press, tooling, and operator from snap-through loads. These shock dampers, also known as impact dampers or just dampers, reduce or eliminate reverse loads, floor vibrations, and noise, as well as increase tool life and forward tonnage in many applications. They decrease damage done to the press and minimize safety risk for press operators. Reverse load can be reduced by 83% to 99% in some presses with the shock damper, according to AIDA Americas’ research.
